Erhai Lake

Erhai Lake, located in China’s Yunnan Province is an ear-shaped lake, which translated into English means “Ear-Shaped Lake”. It is located 1,972 meters above seal level and occupies an area of 250 square kilometers. It is the second largest highland lake in China. The lake is an important source of food for the local Bai Ethnic Minority Group. They fish the lake using cormorants.

Visitors can explore the lake by hiking its banks or taking a cruise around it. There are many sites in and around the lake. There are many sites worth visiting in and around the lake; Erhai Lake Park, Butterfly Springs, Guanyin Ge Jinsuo Island, Nanzhao Folklore Island, and Xiaoputuo Island.
